2018 is just around the corner! As I finish preparations for next year’s theme and hone the “en masse” potential design ideas down to the actual design goals, I have 3 questions for you, my loyal followers, to help steer me in a direction you’re excited to travel too!!

If you don’t want to respond below, feel free to PM me your answers privately on Ravelry! Note: for the first two questions, if you’ve not cast on that particular design, your feedback is still valuable!

2017 thus far
2017 Releases for easy reference :-).

1. What is your favorite release of 2017, thus far, and why?

2. What is your least favorite release of 2017, thus far, and why? I’ve got my big girl panties on… being honest here is being helpful!

3. What is your all time favorite Knit Eco Chic FO and what weight of yarn did you use to knit it?

Puddle cuddles

Thank you SO much for taking this survey. I’m excited to blab all I’ve got in store for next year (if you saw my “live” with Marcela on Instagram, you’ll already have a glimpse of things to come). ‘Til the New Year, I will do my best to hold my cards close so the adventure will be fresh and exciting for you as 2018 unfolds! Puddles is keeping the cards hidden so I can keep stitching!

  1. well, 2017 was a bit of a wash for me in the knitting world so i can’t really comment – although there was many of interest. I still have 2016 cowgirl chic that is begging me, “literally” begging me to get back to it). so i will follow along and see what interesting things you come up with!

oh, i love Green Mountain spinnery cotton comfort – around 80% cotton/20% wool – it’s considered DK weight – i’d be interested in a small project for that – i just might have 2 skeins of a lovely purple/aster type color….

Puddles – no sneak peaks??? ? you look pretty drowsy there boy – did you go out on a long hike? and i got to visit one of your cousins at the humane society when i donated some blankets – i had a huge crochet blanket that turned out to be perfect for that cousin of yours. all the dogs – i wanted all the dogs LOL (and the kitties)

Thanks so much for the feedback, Torre. Green Mountain won’t be in my future due to the wool, but maybe a design will come along which it would sub for really well 😉. Puddles sez he may let one or two slip, but for now, close to the chest it is. Thanks for donating your crocheted blanket – I’m sure they appreciated it and some doggies are super cozy tonight because of you!

  2. 1. What is your favorite release of 2017, thus far, and why?
Marquise Cut is my favorite, although I haven’t made it yet, because I can see getting a lot of use out of it. It will be a good wear-to-work top that I can wear for 3/4 of the year with the weather we have in Texas.

    2. What is your least favorite release of 2017, thus far, and why? I’ve got my big girl panties on… being honest here is being helpful!
Honesty coming: least favorite is Matcha Summer, because it is more bare than I would wear. I like it as a design, it is just something I would not ever make. Anything else that you’ve released I might make at some time, although some are more likely than others (I don’t knit that often for babies; I definitely will knit Marquise Cut, and quite likely Savvy cowl; I am more likely to knit heavier weight hats, and lighter weight cowls, because the hats are charity donations, and I like to wear cowls but live in a warmer climate than you do).

    3. What is your all time favorite Knit Eco Chic FO and what weight of yarn did you use to knit it?
I have to date only knit two Knit Eco Chic patterns, both this year; my favorite is Cowgirl Chic and I used sportweight.

  3. Hi there Lindsay! What a gallery! 16 releases this year! I’m impressed and i think Puddles is tired from all the hard work he had to do helping you out.
Ok favorite design is a bit tricky, cause most of them I have not knitted so I can only say something about the look of it.
I was quite smitten when I saw your last shawl, the artist, but also your savvy hat looks really nice. Last thing that I really like in your designs, are your nifty ways of designing. There is often some clever trick to make to outcome more beautiful or make things easier for the knitter.
Least favorite.. I think it would be the K2 tog by God. Honestly (please don’t be offended cause that’s not how I mean this) I simply don’t think I understand this in the right way. ( I’m brought up Catholic, maybe that’s the reason?)
My altime favorite? I think it is still the MKal ocean….. It was a tremendous knit, with a huge result, but it is always her for the grab on my couch so it gets a lot of love.
I like knitting with nice wools, but I know that’s not for you. Which makes it sometimes difficult cause yarns behave differently. I do like linen, but I haven’t knitted much with it. I never wear cowls, so I’m not likely knitting a cowl. And shawls I prefer fingering weight or something more sportive or dk weight for winter projects.
Sweaters and tops….. Arrrrgh I have to get going! I mean how many shawls can you have?
Sorry for rambling on and not staying quite with your main questions. So when will we be seeing the hints for the new year theme?

Thanks so much for your feedback, Els! Very helpful in deciding what kinds of projects to highlight. It sounds like MKALs are definitely staying :-). Oceanic was a favorite of mine too… I’m glad to hear it’s getting a lot of love as a blanket!
