Thanks so much for voting on the Ravelry poll. The Fall shawl KAL cast on is days away! To celebrate our annual “chic” release what’s better than an IG fall shawl KAL to go with it.

Bucolic Chic KAL hashtag image

How It Works:
Cast on the week of October 15th, 2018! See note bottom
Follow me on IG: knitecochic
Tag your IG posts with #bucolicchickal (that’s bucolic chic kal without the spaces)
Knit your choice of DK or Worsted (or both!) and post your progress updates with #bucolicchickal
Follow the hashtag and enjoy the fun!

In addition to the hashtags, we’ll be having weekly photo prompts, which gets you a double entry into the prize drawings!

Prizes, yes, there will be prizes!

KAL prize Knitting Wild
Knitting Wild by Theressa Silver

A few months back I was blessed to have a couple of my nature photography photos selected for a knitting book. The author, Theressa Silver, has graciously agreed to an interview for our Bucolic Chic KAL and I’ll be donating a copy as the prize for this year’s Fall shawl.

The second prize is a set of 5 buttons that will be featured on a later 2018 Knit Eco Chic release. The more WIP and FO posts you make with the hashtags the greater you chance of winning.

Flooding from Hurricane Michael
This is not a river, but pumpkins are floating down the flood plane outside my neighbourhood.

Hurricane / Tropical Storm Michael had different ideas and we had to cancel our planned photo shoot for today. However, I’m still “hoping” to publish Monday as the current weather indicates a Saturday shoot may be possible! The KAL officially will begin when the pattern goes live.
The KAL runs the week of October 15th when Bucolic Chic “goes live” until November 20th when Puddles collects all your posts, pops them into random.org, and picks a winner for each prize.

Technical stuff – on your first use of #bucolicchickal, I will respond which serves as that official recognition that you are “in the KAL”. IF you don’t receive a response from me within 48 hours of using the hashtag, please message me and we’ll get it sorted out. Please note: if you have a private account, poke me to follow you (and approve my request) so I can see your entries. If you prefer at the end of the KAL to go back to private, just let me know and I’ll unfollow you.

Here’s to a happy Fall Shawl KAL!
