Innovation is key in Christine’s designs. So for our final GAL interview, let’s see what inspires her to think outside the knitted box!

An interview with Jessica Anderson – Looking at your Ravelry profile you’ve got a full house, homeschool, and a prolific publishing schedule with 36 releases thus far this year. I’ve not even managed my desired minimum of 12 with only a Great Dane to care for. What’s your secret? How do you do it… ALL?

Wow! I didn’t realize that I had that many releases this year (and I thought it was a slow year!) I actually get asked this question, in various forms, a lot, because I do homeschool, work for a yarn company, and design, so I started a monthly “BizzyMom Series” where I tackle some of the how’s each month. My top secrets though?

As the 4th annual Indie Design Gift-a-long approaches our blow out New Year’s Eve bash, I came across something extra special from one of our designers that I couldn’t wait to tell you all about. I know you’ve seen some of her work before (Puddles & dad have modeled it), but she also does jaw dropping, gorgeous, wow shawls as well as Mosaic knits. Simone offers 2 retreats for 2017: Schloss Munchenwiler runs July 31st- August 6th (left picture above) and Riederalp & Aletsch Glacier Retreat runs August 7th to 13th (right picture above). They both look absolutely amazing! …

The Indie Design Gift-a-long continues to go strong! I was blessed to be interviewed by designer, Carolyn MacPherson, on her podcast, The Next Beautiful Thing. Interested in learning more about me & Puddles? Check it out here! I’m knitting one of Carolyn’s patterns as part of my “dessert” GAL knitting – if you are looking for quick and easy slippers this winter, check out her “No Place Like Home” design! You won’t be disappointed… I’m on to pair 3 because it is just so well …

Yes you guessed it, this is a spin on the 12 Days of Christmas song. So when you sing each line, be sure to read the lines above it and carry the tune throughout! On the 1st day of the Indie Design Gift-a-long, my true love gave to me: A “Bee Key Pears Mittens” in a “Huggable Christmas Tree” by Virginia Sattler-Reimer and Claire Slade, respectively.
