Part of the fun design challenge with Malabrigo Quickies is to create a knitting design using just 2 skeins or less! Depth Perception answered that challenge with a one sized capelet. But what if you had more than 2 skeins? Is it customizable?

Starting off easy the first three releases (Shadowlands/ Shadowlands Headband, Love Letters Cowl, and Vertical Hiker) all featured 2 and 3 stitch cables. But in upcoming releases, the cables will stretch the imagination as the motifs grow in width. Having a firm philosophy enables the expansion into 4, 5, and even more st cables. The possibilities are excitingly endless!
“Into the Unknown” (2022 theme) strongly features slipped stitch cable designs. As my 40th birthday release is quickly approaching, I thought you would all like a peek behind the curtain to see the process and the development of this super fun technique.
The weather turned on a dime here from winter to spring and with it the “blue ridge haze” appeared for two weeks without a break. So, ever optimistic, camera mom and I went for a nice 2 ½ hour drive along the parkway looking for the quintessential mountain range background.
Though still with us when Camera mom and I shot Vertical Hiker Puddles didn’t come on the shoot. On the hike back I took a little rest and remembered back to the time we hiked it together.
