As the reveal of Terran is just around the corner, Puddles and I wanted to “paws” and take a look back over the design process of it. With over 1.93 GB & 490 files in the design folder and 11.9 GB & 969 files in the media folder (!!!!) there is a lot of Terran that you will never see, including some really adorable Puddles WIP photos. He said share the picture love, human! So, journey back in time with us as we take a look at “this is not your mkal” and the frogged and forgotten stitches of this MKAL design.
Please join me in welcoming Karista of Sweet Mountain Crafts to the blog today. I’ve followed Sweet Mountain Crafts on IG for a while and love the gorgeous yarn and beautiful scenery.
One of the things I love most about brioche knitting is the reversible nature of the stitch. When it came to short rows, though, the techniques I could find all “displayed” the short rows in varying degrees of glaring announcements “there is a short row here!” I knew they had to be a way to make it completely invisible.
The brioche slip, slip, slip & knit the 3 brioche slipped stitches together (brsssk) is demonstrated in today’s stitch tutorial.
Puddles has started an “introduction” channel so we can all get to know each other. And the first “fun” in the “fun and games” channel is a social media photo challenge.
Terran MKAL beckons you forth armed with brioche stitches and stunning yarn into a deep exploration of the subterrain and terrain structures. This shawl is designed for brioche knitting loving terrans – an adventure to knit and thrill to wear! The pattern is live (on presale!) on Payhip, Ravelry, and Lovecrafts. The knitting starts October 7th. The fun happens in the Knit Eco Chic group on Slack!
Let’s knit together an adventure in brioche!
