Our newest release, Butterfly Silk, features optional colourwork with some beautiful colour transitions! But that necessitates the question, how to carry the yarn? I know there are tons of methods out there – from the “no carrying, I cut and weave in ALL those extra ends” camp to the super sly “hide it in my knitting” camp and everything in between.
The Stacks
Wandering through labyrinths of rocks formations or books, “The Stacks” will mark your path in your stitches. Academic from the start, this design knows the importance of breaking from book learning to explore the great outdoors. Whether a beginner on the needles, or well-studied in yarn wrangling, this no-shaping rectangular shawl design packs a visual punch of knitting interest.
From Prolegomena to The Stacks
I’ve always wanted to name a design “Prolegomena” so set forth with that intent for this design. However, as I stitched the concept to life, it began to tell a different story.
Air Bender
Escape to the mountains; escape to the beach; let the wind lift your stitches to a place of windswept texture and peace. As the wind whispers through your Air Bender shawl the unique abstract motifs reflect your chosen drop sequence. As the seasons change the textures do too from airy summer full drops to blustery winter no drops.
Cultivation
Planting is over, and the sun is sure to be shining! Cultivation lets the Vitamin D kiss your shoulders as you weed to keep your garden looking beautiful. Whether outside with a garden hose or tucked inside in your knitting corner while you watch God water for you, this halter seamlessly transitions from outside to in. Designed with the summertime heat in mind, this fun, no-finishing-required, top down tank design features a modest lace detail on the halter, faux side seam details, and simple waist shaping.
River Bend
Twisting, turning, ever flowing, River Bend knits up a water and stone inspired summer design. Listen to the rhythm of the needles to hear the soothing sounds of water bubbling down the stony riverbed as you knit these simple stitches into your quick warm weather scarf.
