Written Directions / Glossary
Taking the standard 1/1 RC and 1/1 LC style directions of 1/1 LPKC and 1/1 RKPC and adding in for the slipping gives 1/1 LKSC and 1/1 RSKC
1/1 LKSC: slip 1 to cn and hold to front, k1, s1 from cn
1/1 LPKC: slip 1 to cn and hold to front, p1, k1 from cn
1/1 LPSC: slip 1 to cn and hold to front, p1, s1 from cn
1/1 LSKC: slip 1 to cn and hold to front, s1, k1 from cn
1/1 RKPC: slip 1 to cn and hold to back, k1, p1 from cn
1/1 RKSC: slip 1 to cn and hold to back, k1, s1 from cn
1/1 RSKC: slip 1 to cn and hold to back, s1, k1 from cn
1/1 RSPC: slip 1 to cn and hold to back, s1, p1 from cn
Expanding it to 3, 4, and 5 st cables and the new syntax you get:

1+2/2 RSKKC: slip 2 sts to cn and hold to back, s1, k2, k2 from cn
1+2/2 RSKPC: slip 2 sts to cn and hold to back, s1, k2, p2 from cn

Exceptions
Aside – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. While testing out the new syntax over the next few months, I’ve elected to keep Shadowlands and Shadowlands Headband with the originally designed syntax.
Shadowlands & Shadowlands Headband ONLY!
3 stitch cables take the familiar 1/1/1 structure, where again, “S” is added in like “K” and “P” were to the 1/1 RC and 1/1 LC base.
1/1/1 LKSKC – slip 1 to cn and hold to front, k1, s1, k1 from cn
1/1/1 LSKKC – slip 1 to cn and hold to front, s1, k1, k1 from cn
1/1/1 RKKSC – slip 2 to cn and hold to back, k1, (k1, s1 from cn) – note here the use of “(…)” to indicate what sts are worked off the cn verses those off the needle
1/1/1 RKSKC – slip 2 to cn and hold to back, k1, (s1, k1 from cn)
