Fall Event Schedule

Mark your calendars! I’ve got so many exciting events scheduled for you all this fall.

Marquise Cut close up
To kick things off, Marquise Cut is now available! This sophisticated linen top features 1×1 cables, twisted stitches, and optional beads. This release is bitter-sweet as it was the final FO my loved one saw before her passing. I was blessed to visit with Grammy while she was still cognizant. She loved the blue of the hand dyed yarn and the beautiful cable stitches. Though she couldn’t see the beads, at one point the sun shone through the windows and struck them just so causing them to glimmer. You could see the surprise and joy in her clear blue eyes. Her final words to me were “keep knitting!”

Next week (September 7th), cast on for the Hoedown Showdown in the Knit Eco Chic group on Ravelry! The two patterns going head to head both feature cast on picots and easy lace highlighting a small portion of each pattern. And that’s all I’m going to spill about the MKAL – eek, those naughty digits typing away and sharing secrets. In addition to fun knitting, I’ve got some amazing physical prizes lined up for the FO thread and some intermediate pattern prizes to go with the games. This is a fun opportunity to discover whether you’re a KAL girl or a MKAL girl! Which will you pick to cast on – Cowgirl Chic or Country Western or are you daring enough to take the double down challenge?

weekly prompt list
Currently, calling all Instagram knitters! I’ve joined up with 7 other indie designers for the Instagram #fallshawlkal2017. This event runs until October 15th. Cast on one of the 35 eligible patterns anytime and check each week for our “special hashtags” – an additional motivating prompt to encourage you while you knit towards your Fall Shawl goals!
Got questions? Since Instagram doesn’t have sticky posts, we’ve created a Ravelry group where you can find all the information.

Looking forward: In addition to these fun events, I’ve got a season of releases scheduled to keep you “knitting happy” as the weather turns from dog days of summer HOT (like now) to cool, crisp, fog, frost, and ‘Let It Snow’!

  1. I’m sorry to hear that your Grammy has passed. It looks like you have a lot of knitting things going on to keep you busy, which is a good thing. You’ve made it difficult for me to decide which summer top to make first, Marquise or Coastal Reflection, because they both look so very wearable.

Thank you! I miss her at the oddest moments – more involve yarn than I would have thought. Keeping the fingers stitching is helping :-). As to your question, I vote Marquise!! With fall and winter in Texas coming I think if you knit Marquise in a fall / winter color, the design is of a more seasonal transitional style than Coastal Reflection, which I think is best for spring / summer.
