Fixing drop stitch oops – before you frog, give this a try!  A knitter working Submerge got one of her drop stitches entangled with the cable beside it.  Save the big dip into the frog pond and drop down one more stitch.  Free the drop stitch.  Then ladder the extra drop stitch back up to the rest of the live stitches.  If you’ve worked an odd number of cables, it will be the stitch closest to the drop.  If you’ve worked and even number of cables, it’s the stitch directly to the right of the middle of the cable.  In this sample, that’s stitch number 2 of the cable stitches.  If you have a 6 stitch cable, it’d be stitch number 3 of the cable stitches.  No reason to fear drop stitches with this fix!

Note: this fix shows drop stitches encumbered with the stitch to the right. The process also works with the stitch to the left.

Walking over to the shoot spot turned out to be one of my favorite photos of Submerge

Give drop stitches a try with Submerge in the “Take the Plunge” knitting book!

(I know many of you prefer the videos on YouTube. However, in the computer saga (yep the one from September of last year), I’ve still not been able to accomplish that with films taken on my phone. Still trying though! I’ll update this page with the link when I’m successful.)
