Ready to take your Christmas knitting virtual? Puddles and I are joining the Fasten Off YAL (yarn-a-long) both as a designer and Great Dane blanketed knitter.
To kick things off we’re offering 25% off our entire Payhip store!

This is the first year for the YAL, so here is a copy of the website detailing how it all works.
The Fasten Off Yarnalong event (“FO2020” for short) grew out of a need to have an off-Ravelry alternative to the annual Independent Designers Giftalong. Many designers and stitchers would love to participate there, but either can’t or won’t, due to Ravelry’s serious accessibility problems 🔗. But nobody wanted to miss out on the discounts and the sense of community and fun which that event brings; and designers didn’t want to miss out on the end-of-year sales boost, and what is essentially a great awareness campaign for them.
Fasten Off Yarn-a-long: An independent designer event (wipinsanity.com)
So we’re having a stitchalong using the patterns of a bunch of independent knitting and crochet designers, complete with prizes and giveaways! These same designers will all be offering a discount on a selection of their patterns at the beginning of the stitchalong. Stitchers can get the discount by using the same code across all eligible patterns, regardless of which sales channel each designer prefers to use! We even have an online discussion forum, to connect participants and give us all a sense of community.
Knitting began November 25th, but you can join anytime! (My apologies for the late notice, this time the human was sick.) The 25% off sale runs through December 5, 2020. The event ends December 31st at midnight!
What will your first CO be? Who are you knitting for and what yarns are speaking to you for this event?
I’ve started with Arkenstone Hat by Ruth Brasch in orange organic cotton yarn. Next up will be Jill Wolcott‘s Queenstown… in to be determined yarn. Both will be headed to warm up our local shelter visitors.
Happy knitting!
