Did you just blink too and realize, woah, where did 2024 go?  I seriously considered continuing KNIT for another year!

Before you see what 2025 has in store for your stitches, here’s a look back at 2024.

Downtown Burnsville started the knitworthy ‘n intriguing techniques with taking a beloved cabling pattern from Air Bender and applying it to my first intentionally modular shawl design.  The yarn came from the “knitworthy” Yummi Yarns in Burnsville, and this cowl and shawl eBook served as a farewell to my favorite NC LYS.

Next up, the one I wondered if I’d ever get published, the long awaited second knitting book, Turning Points!  Each design was shot at a different location along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.  Like the hiking trails along the way, the designs ranged from easy (Curious Climber) to advanced (Sunrise Summit) with 3 in between (Peacock Ridge, Valley View, and Panoramic Spire).

Originally, I had planned two brioche designs to be part of the book, but they weren’t acting cohesively with the other designs, so I was determined to make them stand alone patterns.  One is still under the scrutiny of the little grey cells (and being a rather difficult child, but it’ll come together… right now I’m at frog number 9).  The other was released as Brioche Step Shawl – an way to practice “knit only” stitches in the year of KNIT, brioche “knit only” that is 😉.

Finally Snow Trekking, the yarn that so reminded me of Puddles, was released just before the end of the year.  It was the last time I had a yarn purchase airing on the deck when he was alive so it remained snowbound in my stash a very long time.  But with the move and the desire to not have to pay to move yarn, I set to work and it told me it wanted to become something special for the super cold days of Maine.

That’s 2024 in review, 8 designs in total! For pattern “extras” – 30 IG reels, the majority being quick stitch tutorials and 13 YouTube stitch tutorials.

Now take a peek at 2025…

Luxury in Lace seeks to excite your knitting needles with lace details.  Admittedly, as the graphic attempts to illustrate, not all the designs this year will contain lace – the Meanwhile in Maine sweater will be coming back from TE shortly and the aforementioned brioche design – but for the other projects expected to discover lace in at least one place.

I’m most excited about diving deeper with you all into the Double Layer Knitting technique!  And yes, there’ll be lace here, too 😉.  But never fear, I’m working on tutorials to go with this fun technique especially as it applies to working lace.

These short months that I’ve lived here in Maine I realized how different the knitting needs are for this climate compared to North Carolina.  This change is contributing greatly to the design plans for this year and beyond!

Sharing will be partnering with Handspun Hope this year as the Craig family is on sabbatical.

If you caught the Happy New Year post on social media, you’ll have seen Psalm 86:11-12 is the verse for this year.

Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.

What are your stitching goals for 2025?
