2026 is off to a slippery start here in Maine with weeks of ice, including several days of being “iced-in”. As the world froze outside, creativity spurred inside! But first, a quick recap of 2025 and “Luxury in Lace”:

And now a sneak peek of what is in store for 2026, Multicolored:

Multicolored will bring designs featuring two or more colors to your knitting needles!

You all know me too well to simply assume it’s designs using the same yarn in two (or more) colors. Yes, that will happen, but other designs utilize different yarn weights in different colors. And at least one design features a fun way to add color to an otherwise solid knit.

A multi-designer collection will be released early in 2026. This prompt stretched my design aesthetic in new exciting directions and allowed me to take a deep dive into the Double Layer Knitting technique. Brioche, lace, garter, stockinette, and cables all will be making appearances in a variety of accessories. From beach knits to snowy essentials, designs range in difficulty from adventurous beginner to advanced.

For some social fun, one of my favorite YouTube channels is having a year long Knit Eco Chic KAL with chatting and prizes. Check out Antionette’s channel here and join in!

In addition to designing, I’ve been and will continue to be learning a whole host of new programs in order to continue publishing. (The “Multicolored” graphic above was made with GNU Image Manipulation. Let me know if tutorials on Linux programs would be of interest to you while I humorously learn them myself!)

Psalm 86:11 continues as my verse of the year:

Psalm 86:11
Remembering Puddles and Arctic Climes, which turns 10 this year

Knit Eco Chic will be continuing to support the work of the Craig family in Papua New Guinea as our sharing partners for 2026.

Are you ready for the year of multicolored?
