Remember last week’s challenge? LisaDP stepped up to the stage and floored us all with her fabulous creation! She was gracious enough to allow me to post to the blog – thanks Lisa!
Enjoy!!
Sung to the tune Turkey in the Straw
As I was a-knittin’
On my Cowgirl Chic
With a long circ needle
And a skein so sweet
I wrapped my yarn
Right around the needle tip
I pulled it through
And didn’t let it slip
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Center decrease
Now and then
And lots and lots of stitches
Knit between the ends
Began with a picot
And then a couple more
Added lots more picots
‘Til it reached the floor
Kept on making picots
‘Til the needle was full
A single stitch marker
And a long strand of wool
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Center decrease
Now and then
And lots and lots of stitches
Knit between the ends
I came to the marker
And I had to count to four
Did the correct decrease
And knit a couple more
Then I kept on a-knittin’
To the end of the row
Turn the needle
And back I go
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Center decrease
Now and then
And lots and lots of stitches
Knit between the ends
Did you ever do your knittin’
With a cat on your lap
A-holdin’ down the yarn
While she takes a nap
Or do you have a puppy
As large as can be
Who models your knittin’
When he can’t get free?
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Decrease on the left
Decrease on the right
Center decrease
Now and then
And lots and lots of stitches
Knit between the ends
