The next two releases in the Rise Up Collection both feature fabulous colorwork! “Shooting Star” by Marcela Chang Knits and “Garden Cowl” by Knit Equals Joy.

Marcela cleverly converted Christine’s beautiful six-pointed cable star pattern into a stunning color work motif. She soared on her Shooting Star with top notch techniques, like steeking. I watched mesmerized as she filmed the “big cut” on her IG post. Working from down South, WAY down South… in Chile, in fact, Marcela is also the translator behind our Spanish translations. I love how her creative spirit expanded the collection in design, techniques, and language!

The gorgeously designed hibiscus flower by Carole in her “Garden Cowl” enthralls me. I admire the creativity that goes into custom design and love how she paired it with multiple color interpretations of one of the given patterns. The stripes tie all the colorwork together giving a non-symmetrical, but balancing point to the cowl. If you’ve got colorful leftover stash, this design makes a great upcycle!
