Rain boots all around… even if that means all of us are wearing mine đ
When it rains, it pours – but that didnât stop my adventurous boys from enjoying the wilds of the North Carolina mountains!! God blessed us with a wonderful visit despite the weather. Hands down⌠and paws too, for that matter, the best activity was picking wild raspberries in torrential downpours!
We also had a blast around the pool table with three generations playing round-robin style. Teaming up with my mini me nephew, we took the prize with him sinking the 8 ball for the win â and this is his first trip ever even playing. That boyâs got talent. Early morning fun with my big guy also happened around the pool table as we sized up the best shots!
Scategory fun around the dinner table brought joy to the point of tears. My eldest man came up with some life long inside jokes with his answers. Topics to be brought up during his wedding toast, no doubt!

Sadly, the scavenger hunt this time âround was a little too complex. A certain couple of boys decided itâd be more fun to ramble through the woods than stick to the map and got lost. All in good fun (once they were âunlostâ â thank goodness for birthday present walkie-talkies)⌠for the adventure conclusion, we switched to Morse code deduction!
Iâm so thankful for the wonderful staycation and break. My knitting needles stayed clicking through some non-designing projects, while my brain was active with new potential ideas.
How is your summer? Whatâs on your needles and whoâs visiting on the sofa beside you?
