What do you do if you want to knit two layers of fabric in the round without wrong sides facing each other?  Well, you *could* use two sets of DPNs, but is there another way?  YES!

Dubbed “double layer knitting” because it’s a lot like double knitting, but without the purls.  This technique allows you to work two layers of fabric on the same needles so you can easily transition between integrating and non-integrating sections.  Both layers have RS facing knits and WS facing purls creating a double layer of fabric.

  1. Hi, Lindsay. It’s been more than 20 years since you and I last touched base, so I’m delighted to see what you have been up to in recent years. I think you are one of the most creative students I ever taught at NCSU. Best wishes on all your creative efforts.
