Did you know there are 2 You Tube how-to’s for this MKAL: “Oceanic MKAL Initial Cast On Demonstration” & “Oceanic MKAL”? I know it is daunting diving into directions without knowing what you are knitting, so I wanted to provide extra help if you need it. Without giving too much of the pattern away, the first video is a short how-to of the initial modified I-cord cast on directions. You can watch that video here. And please forgive me – in an effort to cover both right handed and left handed knitters, I demonstrated both. I wholeheartedly admit that my left handed knitting skills are still developing, but I didn’t want to leave you lefties high and dry! So lefties …

A Yarn’s Tale

After weaving in the ends, photographing for testers, washing, and laying the “Goldilocks and the Three Stitch Designs” flat to dry, this designer tucked some edits for the tank design into layout and took a much needed nap, confident another design was well on it’s way to publication. Out of the darkness a gentle whisper floated and fluttered around my ears, the soft tonal grays in eco-stitch’s hand dyed yarn spoke softly, “sleeves.” I wisped it away. Then the light blue joined in the refrain, “wake up, I’m not done.” But my sleep was sweet so I dozed on. Undeterred, the volume rose and rose until the bright aqua gave a resounding shout shocking me awake. The sample cried forth …

Goldilocks and the Three Stitch Details

There is something truly special about squishy mail arriving on your birthday! Diane, at Eco-Stitch, blessed me this April with such a surprise and I knew the best way to show my gratitude was to transform it into something special. Like a good little designer, I swatched the concept for an ebb and flow stitch design. And set to grading, writing, and then knitting. One of the small treasures on the FAQ page is “I want to be a Brand Ambassador” tab, but what does it mean? It simply means helping me overcome one of my biggest limitations of being homebound by being my knitters in the world. Knit your Knit Eco Chic patterns in public at your LYSs and other knit and chat groups …

Perhaps you saw the “What Happens With…” tab and diagram on the FAQs page and wondered? Well, I’m so excited to share with you this year’sharing world mission recipients, John & Kristi Craig & their 3 kiddos – Nori, Banner, and Millie. Through Wycliffe, the Craig’s are working on improving water and power infrastructure as well as ministering in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea. Though their internet is intermittent, the Craig’s created a website before they left. You can follow their, often buggy, adventures here: Live for God and Live. When praying about who Knit Eco Chic should share with, God kept bringing to mind John. Growing up my sister had a small close circle of friends who became part of …
