How do you work your brioche knitting? I was a one color at a time gal, but then I wondered, could it be done simultaneously? The answer is yes! Watch this video to see how to work both Rows 1 (Row 1 MC and Row 1 CC) at the same time. With a little tensioning practice, you’ll be brking and brping across the row with glee! Oh the possibilities this opens up!! (Yes, there is plenty of laughs – as I’m still perfecting my left hand movements.)

Lindsay could you explain “brkking” please? I’m sure I missed something somewhere…!

Hi Cindy,
Haha, I bark-ed and burp-ed my way through that video didn’t I. “Brk” or “barking” as I pronounce it since it has no vowels, is brioche knit. “Brp” or “burping” as I pronounce it since it has no vowels, is brioche purl.
Brk – knit the st with it’s companion yarn over
Brp – purl the st with it’s companion yarn over
When working at the same time (on brks) you create it by holding the CC yarn over the left needle and knit into the st on the needle with the “faux” CC yarn over. Similar with brps.
Watch it again and see if it the additional info helps :-).
