“THING” – what’s up with thing? While technically a shawl, the design is such that there is not the standard bulk behind the neck as with regular shawls making it summer suitable! You block the design in the shape of a heart so that it lays perfectly when worn.
Picking the best yarn: approximately 300 yards per 100 grams of your favorite sport weight yarn, given the summer appeal and light weight nature. The design works up in 77% main color and 23% contrasting color. Not into stripes? It would also look smashing in a single-skein gradient, semi-solid, tonal, or single color too!
I knit my sample in 270yds/ 240m per 90g/ 3.17oz sport weight eco yarn:
210yds/ 192m per 70g/ 2.47oz Logwood (MC) and 60yds/ 55m per 20g/ 0.71oz Myrobalan & Iron (CC)
Vegan Yarn Capella 100% organic cotton, Fair Trade, hand dyed yarn with 136 glass Japanese Seed beads.
Single skein info on the yarn: 300 yards (274m) per 100 grams (3.53oz).
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows over 4”/ 10cm in Stockinette Stitch. Note: exact gauge is not critical to this design. Gauge variations may impact final size and yardage requirements.
